And to kick start our Art Shop we have a kind of artistic take on the Kevin Bacon game; a very beautiful poster by the American ‘happenings’ artist Jim Dine designed in 1968 for the comic operas of Gilbert & Sullivan at the City Center New York and now signed by the renowned collaborative art duo, GILBERT & GEORGE.

The strange bedfellows of Jim Dine, Gilbert & Sullivan and the corruption of the title with Gilbert and George’s signature make this piece very quirky and unusual. We often see George at Spitalfields market and asked him to perform this act in August this year, of which he was most obliging, so we are able to authenticate the signature.

Now we really are very excited and proud to announce the arrival of our first artist J.Mit. His intriguing sculptures run off into a world of fantastical hybrids with humour, delicacy, finite detail and imagination.

Entitled ‘toothbrush’, this sculpture made from wood and camel’s teeth takes a new slant on oral hygiene.
